8 Simple face packs for dry dull skin (WINTER SKIN CARE)

2017 has passed way too fast.We are already in December but i am happy because it’s my birthday month. YAY!

But, i must say that winter season is not skin friendly for us. Dry and dull skin are the biggest problem of this season. I have dry skin and in winters my skin peels off and there are dry patches everywhere on my face. But, from the last 2 to 3 years i have been following a specific winter skin care routine to combat that. And my skin care routine is not complete without a face pack!

I usually try different home remedies for my dry skin because i get bored of using the same DIY again and again. From what i have used till now, i have sorted a list of 8 best home remedies for dry skin that works the best. I am sure you will love them! Shall we begin?

  1. Milk and Turmeric :

Milk is a mild natural exfoliator.It contains lactic acid which is a type of alpha hydroxy acid which helps in removing dead skin cells gently.It also gives softer and bright skin as it also helps in skin regeneration. Turmeric, on the other hand , has curcumin as active ingredient which helps in neutralizing free radicals and treats dry skin. This face pack can be used by any skin type especially sensitive skin types.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 2 teaspoon of milk
  2. 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric

Mix both of them together in a bowl and apply over your face using a cotton swab. Wash the face after 15 minutes to get glowing skin instantly. You can use this face pack daily at night.

    2.Sea Salt and Honey:

We don’t sweat in winter so all the dirt and grime gets trapped in our pores. Sea salt cleanses the pores deeply and remove bacteria as well which may cause acne and pimples as well. And , if your skin gets really dry, honey is the answer.The main reason for this is honey draws moisture from atmosphere to the skin and penetrates deeply in to the skin giving the skin long lasting hydration. This is a very mild and effective scrub too.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1 teaspoon of sea salt
  2. 1 teaspoon honey
  3. water( if consistency is too thick)

Apply this mixture on your face and massage for one minute. Then, leave it for 8 to 10 minutes. Then, wash your face with normal water. You can use this face pack two to three times per week.

    3. Lemon and Sugar:

This face pack is ideal for oily skin. Lemon contains citric acid and potassium which dissolves the dead skin cells and gives a very soft texture to your skin. And, sugar acts as a mild scrub. It contains glycolic acid which helps prevent the drying of the skin and creates an oil  balance.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1/2 Lemon
  2. 1 teaspoon of sugar

Massage this mixture gently on your face for 30 to 40 seconds and leave for 10 minutes for best results. Use this pack 2 times a week in winters and 3 to 4 times a week in summer and other weather conditions.

    4. Honey and Coconut oil :

Coconut Oil contains  a variety of healthy fats which moisturizes the skin very well and prevents drying and flaking of skin during winter. Coconut oil also acts as a sunscreen so, you can also use just coconut oil as a base to moisturize the skin and to save the skin from harsh sun rays too.And as i said, honey draws moisture from atmosphere to the skin and penetrates deeply in to the skin giving the skin long lasting hydration.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1 teaspoon honey
  2. 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

You can apply this pack every other day to aviod drying and chapping of skin. Keep it for a minimum of 20 minutes to get the best out of it

     5. Curd and Vitamin E:

Curd is power packed with a lot of vitamins, minerals , protiens and fats so, it helps in moisturizing the skin very deeply and keeps the skin healthy if used regularly. Curd also acts as a mild scrub because it contains lactic acid. There are endless benefits of using vitamin E for skin and hairs and moisturization of skin is one of them. It also gives you glowing skin by repairing the damaged tissues.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1 tablespoon curd
  2. 1 capsule of evion 400

To make this face pack, pierce the vitamin e capsule and take out all the product that is inside and mix it with the curd. Apply this all over your face for 20 to 25 minutes everyday. If your skin is extremely dry like me, you will love it!

     6. Curd , Glycerin and Turmeric:

Now, you know what curd does to our skin. And, Glycerin is also a type of humectant like honey as it draws moisture from the air and deeply nourishes your skin. Your face will become soft and supple  even if using it for the very first time. Turmeric, as i said , has curcumin as active ingredient which helps in neutralizing free radicals and treats dry skin.

To make this face pack, you need :

    1. 1 teaspoon curd
    2. 3 drops of glycerin
    3. 1/4 teaspoon turmeric

Mix all of them together and apply on face. This face pack will give you even skin tone and supple skin. Use this face pack 2 to 3 times per week for best results.

   7. Sandalwood, coconut oil and Distilled water:

Sandalwood mixed with coconut oil does wonders to our skin. It moisturizes, cleanses and deep clean our skin at the same time. If there is any bacterial or viral infection your skin, sandalwood helps in removing them too. This is one of my favorite face packs that i use during winter.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1 tablespoon of sandalwood
  2. 1/3 teaspoon of coconut oil
  3. 2 teaspoon of  distilled water ( to mix)

A face pack especially for oily skin. Mix all three together and apply on face and keep it for  20-25 minutes . Use this face pack every other day or whenever you feel dryness  and dullness on your skin.

    8. Aloe vera and Honey:

Oh! the cult favorite aloe vera. Aloe vera moisturizes the skin without leaving any greasiness. Brightens and evens out the skin tone with regular use. And  Honey draws moisture from atmosphere to the skin and penetrates deeply in to the skin giving the skin long lasting hydration.

To make this face pack, you need :

  1. 1 teaspoon  aloe vera gel ( i have used patanjali one!)
  2. 1 teaspoon honey ( i have used patanjali one .. lol )

Mix both of them together and apply a thick paste on your entire face. Leave for 20 minutes and  wash it with normal water. You can use this pack everyday during winters.

So, these are very simple face packs for dry dull skin that you can try out during winters and if you use any one of them regularly then your skin will be more soft, bright and moisturized.
